We were asked by Tesco to create a series of video productions about the Tesco Community Fund. Launched in 2014, the scheme is a way for Tesco stores to give back to their local communities by donating to good causes.
Every 12 weeks, each Tesco store donates up to €2,000 between three local good causes in its community.
Since 2014, The Tesco Community Fund has supported over 21,000 community projects nationwide - including schools, animal shelters, sports groups, elderly care centres, health organisations and much more - with over €6 million in donations.
In order to make a record this incredible, and largely unsung, local community effort, we went on a road trip across Ireland with Hector Ó hEochagáin to find out about the wonderful causes that the Tesco Community Fund supports and to meet the incredible people who give their time and expertise so selflessly to make those causes happen.
The stories we uncovered and recorded were moving and uplifting, and Hector proved the perfect presenter and host, drawing the very best out of the people he met and interviewed with is natural wit, charm and positive energy.
The Coop is lucky enough to have been engaged on an ongoing basis to film new stories for the Tesco Community Fund, as they unfold.
